DIFS was born in 2000 on Dangar Island, near Brooklyn on the Hawkesbury River, New South Wales, Australia. Our first night fundraiser screened Mambo Kings, with a special video message from the Sydney Morning Herald's film critic Doug Anderson, a risqué short and gallons of mango daiquiri. The DIFS signature drink (secret recipe here) has raised funds for over 100 film screenings and five kids' film-making workshops: Islander's Point of View, Late, The Mystery of the Hawkesbury River Monster, Gossip Game and Message On The Water.
