HOW TO BE SURE
YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN
People have always been rebelling against God. Sometimes actively, but usually by simply ignoring him. The Bible calls this sin, and says that if we persist in it we will, by our own choice, be cut off from God forever! And the further news is that because God's standards are 100% perfect, we can do nothing to save ourselves.
But there is good news too......God sent Jesus, the only perfect person, to take the penalty we deserved on himself. Justice was served when Jesus died on the cross in your place and mine.
SO, WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO?
Well there isn't anything you can do, because Jesus has done it all!
The only thing to do is to receive the free gift of forgiveness and new life that God offers you......
THE WAY TO RECEIVE
FORGIVENESS IS...
Ask God to forgive you
and trust that he will.
Be willing to turn away
from running your own life
and ask Jesus to take charge.
You might pray
something like this:-
Lord Jesus, I am sorry that
I have lived my own way
without you.
Thank you for dying
in my place.
Please forgive me and
give me your Holy Spirit .
I give myself to you,
Amen

WHAT NEXT?
Ask God to lead you to a church where you can be encouraged and taught in following Jesus.
Get a copy of the Bible and start reading (Mark's Gospel might be a good place to start).
Talk to God. Set some time apart each day to spend special time with him.
Tell someone about this step that you have taken, to help establish your commitment.
