MB/GPW Splash Shield
Part No. GPW-9647 (Ford) WO-A-642 (Willys) SHIELD, air cleaner, assembly
The splash shield is sometimes missing from a jeep. It attaches to the right
chassis rail behind the engine bearer, and is a sheet metal plate with a
fold along one side and a spot-welded attachment bracket along the front edge.
The plate illustrated here came from a GPW, note the script and GPW near the
front bolt holes. The photographs at right show an original yet broken and kinked
plate (undercoated).
