A reminder of why we do what we do.

Reciently I watched a documentary on the Oasis program in Sydney. The Oasis program is run by the Salvation Army and works with the hardest kids around, the homeless kids and the dug addicted kids. They followed the day to day running of the program for 2 years. The documentry showed us the success story's as well as the disasters.

After watching this program I thought to myself about how I could do something like that. How could I help kids like that. Could I give up everything just to help them. Then God reminded me; that is exactly what we do. With building relationships with the kids in V8 we are helping to stop them getting as 'bad' (if I can use that word) as those 'street kids'. We are showing them that people do care and there is always another way.

Never think that the work that we do as a church is of no value or a waste of time. We make a difference in kids lives and their families. Thank God for our leaders and the selfless work that they do. Thank God for the essential 'Love” work we all do. We are showing love to kids by just in being there. To care for our young is to care for Jesus himself. "The king will answer them, 'I can guarantee this truth: Whatever you did for one of my brothers or sisters, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you did for me.' Mat 25:40
