Welcome to our Web Site. The Parish of Wonthaggi and Inverloch is situated in South Gippsland Victoria, some one and a half hours from Melbourne on the Bass Coast. . The Parish includes the towns of Wonthaggi, Inverloch, Cape Paterson, Archie's Creek and Dalyston. Kilcunda is on the edge of the Parish. The Parish includes some of Victoria’s most beautiful coastline as one of it’s boundaries. There are two churches in the parish. St. George’s in McBride Ave., Wonthaggi and the Church of the Ascension in The Crescent, Inverloch. The Parish is a part of the Anglican Diocese of Gippsland which covers the whole of Gippsland, stretching from Bunyip to Cann river and the Border; and from the Sea to the Great Divide. Our Bishop is the Rt. Rev’d John McIntyre. He is based in Sale where the Cathedral Church of St. Paul is as well as the Diocesan Offices Our Diocese is in communion with the other Diocese in Australia and with the world wide communion through the Archbishop of Canterbury Wonthaggi, was a coal mining town and is now a major service town for the surrounding area. The District has light Industry, Farming and Tourism as it’s main activities. The Inverloch district has farming, Tourism and is also a popular retirement area. The whole The District is well known for it's many places of interest, surfing and other water sports as provided for and serviced with essentials services, sporting clubs and various other interest groups. The Parish seeks to provide an effective and creative ministry for the many permanent residents as well as to the people who have permanent holiday homes and the tourists that come, particularly in the Summer Months. The spiritual needs of people on holidays is one of our primary considerations.
