I use a Yupiteru MVT7100 radio scanner connected either to a discone, stationmaster or the standard telescopic antenna. It has been modified slightly to provide a digital output. This signal can be used by a PC to decode some types of digital signals such as pagers. See the Data Slicer schematic for details of the circuit necessary to wave shape the scanner digital signal output. Many scanner users have reportedly had success feeding the earphone output to a PC sound card. With my experimentation, I was unable to obtain even a reasonable result using this method. Apparently it does depend on the hardware being used.
